What to Expect

I offer therapy for adolescents, adults, and couples residing in North Carolina. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of your next steps, even if things don’t feel “that bad,” you’re not alone. Therapy isn’t about having it all figured out; it’s about having support as you begin to sort things out.

Format

Therapy sessions at MRH Therapy are offered virtually, providing the convenience and comfort of receiving support from anywhere while maintaining continuity of care and flexibility for your schedule.

Virtual sessions allow you to prioritize your mental health in a way that fits seamlessly into your life.

Frequency

When first starting therapy, weekly sessions tend to be most effective as this typically helps clients create steady and consistent progress.

However, the frequency can be personalized based on your specific goals and circumstances. As you make progress, we can make adjustments that support your growth and evolving needs.

I am an out-of-network provider, which means I do not accept insurance. However, most insurance holders have significant out-of-network benefits that help you cover the cost of therapy. After each session, I will provide you with a receipt (called a Superbill) that makes it easy to submit to your insurance for reimbursement.

I am happy to discuss this process further with you during our consultation call.

Please see the list of helpful questions you can ask your insurance provider below.

Navigating insurance can feel confusing, especially when using out-of-network benefits. If helpful, here are a few questions you can ask your insurance provider to better understand your coverage:

A simple line drawing of a branch with leaves.
  • Does my plan provide out-of-network coverage for mental or behavioral health?

  • How much will be reimbursed per session?

  • Is there a limit on the number of sessions my plan will cover per year?

  • Do I need to meet a separate deductible?

  • How do I submit claims, and how long does reimbursement take?

You’re not expected to have all of this figured out before reaching out — these questions are simply meant to help guide the process.
