Frequently Asked Questions

What should I expect during my first session?

In therapy, we call your first session an “intake” session.

Essentially, this is a chance for me to learn about you, your background, and what led you to therapy. I will guide the conversation and ask thoughtful questions so we can begin building a foundation for our work together.

My focus is on creating a space where you feel understood, supported, and at ease. There is no pressure to share everything at once – we will move at a pace that feels right for you!

How do I meet with my therapist?

Because sessions are virtual, clients will meet with me by joining a HIPAA-compliant video session.

The link will be provided in your appointment reminder email or through the “Telehealth by Simple Practice” app.

What if we are not a good fit?

I will be the first to tell you that your success in therapy is dependent on your relationship with your therapist.

This is why I provide free 15-minute consultation calls in order to gauge whether or not we are a good fit.

If we determine that we are not a strong match, I will do my best to guide you in the right direction with an appropriate referral.

How long will therapy last?

Therapy is a deeply personal, unique journey, and there is no precise timeline.

For some, a single session may provide the support they need, while others benefit from weekly, biweekly, or monthly sessions for a longer period.

Ultimately, the length of therapy is guided by your needs, goals, and how you feel along the way.
